SAFE Haven of Racine, a local nonprofit, is celebrating 51 years of service this year! The overall mission of SAFE Haven in Racine is to improve the quality of life for youth and families through education, opportunity, and support. Services provided at the Shelter include trauma-informed care, family mediation, individual counseling, and peer support.
On average, we assist over 2000 youths per year. Our multi-service programs include an early childhood development center and its before/after school programs; our Girls Inc of Southeast Wisconsin facilitates programs to improve the lives of under-served girls ages 6 to 18; Feather-a-nest helps a low-income person(s)/families move from shelters or homelessness into their own homes. Last but definitely not least, the SAFE Haven of Racine Youth Shelter provides 24/7, 365 days per year emergency shelter and supportive services to youths aged 10-17, who have experienced abuse, or neglect, are homeless, trafficked, or who otherwise find themselves in harm’s way. Due to COVID and the intensified pressure on families, demands for our services continue to increase.
